The Best Team in the Business
When it comes to the UCEC team, we're not shy about telling the world that we make the best control panels, period. All of our departments continually push for improvements in technology and processes. We travel to tradeshows and search for the latest in new tech. We take classes in the newest UL standards. We never settle for "good enough."
At UCEC, we think our customers deserve the finest control panels that exist. And with careful attention to our customers' needs, fine craftsmanship and technology, we're pushing ourselves to get even better. Thanks for your confidence in UCEC. We never take it for granted.
Meet the UCEC Team
At Justin Kastner’s first job at a company that manufactured packaging machines, he found himself working behind a desk. He quickly realized it wasn’t for him, so he happily moved toward a more “hands-on” position working with machines. Justin decided he enjoyed learning about electrical components and how machines run, and the discovery launched his career.
Last year, we asked CEO and President Mark Inboden to answer eight questions on the blog. Learn what makes him tick with this blog rewind today.
Since March of this year, Margaret Turco has brought her artistic touch to UCEC as our engraver for nameplates and terminal tags.
At UCEC, we work hard. We play hard. And we spend the work day (and some weekend hours!) with our co-workers who are like family. Here's a quick roundup of some images from our shop, offices and beyond. Enjoy!
It took Denise Nation a few twists and turns to end up on the Wiring team at UCEC in 2016. Her first career track was in healthcare, but she had a feeling that wasn’t exactly what she was supposed to do. A chance to attend school for avionics electronics was intriguing; Denise says she always liked figuring out how things worked.
I think the members of the Wiring Team are all artisans. There’s a lot of creativity. It’s kind of one of those hidden heroes type of jobs. People don’t understand what they do, but our people put in a lot of effort.
I am continually amazed at our creative team members here at UCEC. Led by Operations Support Manager Zach Fothergill and Wireman Morgan Burris, the team just designed, fabricated and installed a brand-new UCEC logo in our headquarters lobby.
Max Nelson moved to Denver a few years ago for a change of scenery and a chance to start a new career. He found all that and more at UCEC, where he’s worked as a wireman on the Wiring side of the shop since December 2015.

We've had sustained high winds here in the Denver Metro area the last few days. And while we might prefer the calmer, more "lamb-like" performance of late March, we're keeping on with the work of panel craftsmanship inside the shop.
Editor's Note: Last year, we asked our CEO and President, Mark Inboden, eight questions. We decided to return again with five more questions about UCEC, leadership and the future of panel building.
We've been publishing posts on UCEC.com for several years. Our topics range from fabrication to wiring to international travel and customer service—and everything else you've ever wanted to know about control panels! One subject has been constant: our executive team's perspective on leading a business that is thriving and growing, while at the same time, serving our customers well.
For Kathy VanDerlyn, warehouse organization is something that comes naturally. Prior to arriving at UCEC, she worked in the automotive business for 16 years. As the warehouse manager in the parts department for two suburban Denver dealerships, Kathy was in charge of inventory, ordering and warehouse organization, in addition to dispatching delivery drivers.
Recently, I had a new job come in, and like I usually do, I double-checked the Bill of Material against the schematics to make sure what we purchased had actually arrived.
We're always happy to spotlight our talented craftsmen in the UCEC shop. Enjoy this quick slideshow of our team working and having a little fun this summer (with a few pictures thrown in from Spring, too.)
We're delighted to introduce "Flat Ben," who was created by Joseph Zuniga who works on the Fabrication side of the shop. You may have heard of the Flat Stanley project. Well, our very own Flat Ben is on the move as well! Enjoy a few shots of our cardboard friend in the shop (and his very own look-alike human, Ben Bellavance, also from Fabrication.)
After two years of sharing Employee Spotlights with our readers, we thought it was time for CEO and President Mark Inboden to take his turn. Today, he's answering eight questions we were eager to ask.
It was good timing for Ryan Stephenson and UCEC when he joined the company in 2014. UCEC had just purchased a Steinhauer MC-80 CNC machine which uses CAD technology to guide intricate panel drilling.
Assembler Edgar Audelo discovered UCEC in 2013 when he saw a job listing his acquaintance Zach Fothergill posted on social media. Prior to UCEC, Edgar held an eclectic series of jobs including high school wrestling coach and concept car tester.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays from UCEC! As we close out a successful and fulfilling 2017, we wanted to let our employees, customers, partners and vendors know how much we appreciate them. You're the reason we exist!
